DENNIS LEE ACUPUNCTURE

I have been receiving acupuncture treatments from Dr. Dennis D. Lee for the past three years. Lee’s services were recommended to me by an orthopedic surgeon from Webster Orthopedics in Oakland, who had recommended against a possible surgery to treat spinal stenosis in my lumbar region (in layman’s terms, chronic lower back pain). He though that Lee’s acupuncture services might help my condition. Indeed they have done so.  I am very satisfied with Dr. Lee’s treatments, which have reduced both the severity and frequency of my back pain.

Approximately 2 ½ years ago, I sustained a neck injury, and subsequently experienced daily, excruciating pain to my neck and head. Over time, I also experienced restrictive movement to my neck. I tried physical therapy for a few months, but it seemed that the pain only intensified.

I came to see Dr. Dennis Lee over a year ago, and have kept my weekly appointment with him ever since. Before seeing him, out of respect for my oncologist who seemed to distrust alternative medicine in our discussions, I had refrained from visiting nonconventional medical practitioners despite my belief in the efficacy of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I was recommended by my family doctor Charles Renner few years ago to see the acupuncturist Dr. Dennis Lee to treat my neck, shoulder and back pain that has bothered me for many years due to my occupation and sports activities. I tried chiropractors and massage therapists over the years but they were not effective to my muscle pain. I remembered my first visit at Dr. Lee's office, he examined my posture and noticed my left shoulder was higher than my right one, and all kinds of incorrect sitting and standing postures that could cause my muscle stiffness and pain. He asked me to be aware of my posture and provided me with some exercises to correct the posture. Meanwhile I started receiving the acupuncture treatments to relax my muscle twice a week in the beginning of the first few weeks, then reduced to once a week. After 6 months of treatments, I felt lot better and my chronicle muscle pain has reduced to the point that I only needed to see him as needed.

The other treatment I received from Dr. Lee is the herbal medicine he subscribed to me to treat my digestive and sleeping problems as well as year around allergy symptoms with congestions and post nasal drips. He prepared the herbal medicine in pouches and they are very easy to drink.  I have been taking the herbal medicine as needed, and noticed the significant improvement to my over all health. I have more energies nowadays, and can breath easily.

I definitely recommend Dr. Lee for anyone who would like to live long and healthier without taking western medicine to mask the symptoms and damage the liver but seeking alternative medicine to let your body rebalance/reset itself.

Several weeks ago after months of chronic pain in my neck and shoulders I was referred to a Dr. Michael Tseng at Webster Orthopedics at Oakland. After X-rays and an MRI Dr. Tseng designed my treatment program. My condition was stated as Cervical Spondylosis and Spondylolisthesis, Cervical region. Dr. Lee is very knowledgeable and took his time to explain to me what and how acupuncture works. He also was very detailed in explaining the treatment needle placement process and the simple Tai Chi exercises he showed me to perform daily.

I can report after six sessions I feel greatly improved. My pain and discomfort level has been drastically reduced and I am now ready to move on to phase two of my program which is physical therapy.
